Anxiety

At Genesis Counseling Center, we understand that anxiety is a part of life – it’s a normal response to stress and can even be beneficial in some situations. However, when anxiety becomes pervasive, consuming your thoughts and affecting your daily life, it transforms into an anxiety disorder. This is more than just feeling anxious before a big meeting or exam; it’s an ongoing state of worry and fear that doesn’t subside, even when the stressor is gone.

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health disorders, but they can manifest in different ways for different people. Some people may feel a constant, unexplained sense of anxiety, while others might experience intense bouts of terror or fear that leaves them immobilized. Regardless of how it presents, anxiety can be incredibly distressing and disruptive, making it difficult to lead a normal life.

But there’s good news: anxiety disorders are treatable, and at Genesis Counseling Center, we offer a range of therapies designed to help you manage your anxiety and regain control over your life. Our individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and family therapy sessions are led by highly skilled therapists who employ proven therapeutic techniques like Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These therapies aim to change specific behaviors and alter the way you think about stressors, equipping you with the tools you need to cope with anxiety.

If you or someone you care about is struggling with symptoms of anxiety, take the first step towards healing by contacting Genesis. We also provide a wealth of online resources (see below) to help you better understand anxiety and learn strategies to manage it. At Genesis Counseling Center, we’re committed to guiding you on your journey towards healing, offering hope, professional support, and a caring community that understands what you’re going through. Remember, you don’t have to face this alone – we’re here to help.
