This Privacy Policy explains the types of information Genesis Counseling Center, Inc. and Genesis Assist, LLC (collectively “Genesis” or “we” or “our”) may collect from you or that you might provide when you visit or use www.genesiscounselingcenter.com,  www.genesisassist.com, our mobile websites, microsites or mobile applications, or any other digital services or platforms officially operated or used by Genesis from time to time (the “Sites” or “Services”).

HIPAA and Protected Health Information

Please be advised that Genesis, in certain capacities, is regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”).  This Privacy Policy does not apply to uses and disclosures of your Protected Health Information (“PHI”), as defined under HIPAA.  Our use and disclosure of any PHI is subject to our Notices of Privacy Practices, which can be found here: https://genesiscounselingcenter.com/privacy-practices/.  To better protect the information you submit to us via this website, please use only our encrypted chat feature or one of our encrypted online new patient or existing patient forms when submitting any PHI, including sensitive healthcare information, through the Site.  For your convenience, we may make a Contact form available on our Site where you can input some basic information about yourself and the reason for your contact; however, please be aware that any information you submit via that Contact form will not be encrypted, which means it will be transmitted in plaint text and could be read by anyone who might intercept it.  You are not required to use the Contact form to contact us. Additionally, please do not provide any PHI to us in any texts you might choose to send to us.  

Your use of this Site does not create a patient relationship between you and Genesis, or between you and any health care professional employed by or associated with Genesis. 

No Use by Minors Under 13

This Site is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13.  If we become aware that we have collected any information from someone under the age of 13 through this Site, we will delete the information.   

Information We Collect Automatically

If you visit our Site to browse, read, or download information, we will automatically collect the following information:

  • The Internet domain through which you access the Internet (e.g., yourServiceProvider.com if you use a commercial Internet service provider, or yourSchool.edu if you use an Internet account from your school).

We use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this Site. In addition, if Genesis and/or its assets (or a portion of its assets) are sold, assigned, transferred, or merged, or if Genesis undergoes some other change including a change to its corporate form as part of a bankruptcy proceeding or otherwise, information may be transferred as part of that transaction or change.

We do not sell your data to third parties, nor do we share your data with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Do Not Track Signals

This Site does not process or respond to “do not track” signals.

When you access those third-party websites, you will be governed by those third parties’ respective privacy policies and terms of use.  You should review those policies and terms, as Genesis does not control how those third parties collect, use, or disclose your data.

Genesis reserves the right to change the Privacy Policy in its sole and absolute discretion at any time. All changes to the Privacy Policy are effective from the date posted unless a different effective date is stated in the Privacy Policy. We will post notification of changes to this policy. Your continued use of the Site after the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
