
Michele Martin, LPC
Michele has worked in the substance abuse and mental health field since 1997. She is licensed in the state of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor, and as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. She has extensive experience counseling individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. She has also worked with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. Michele is passionate about walking alongside others as they pursue healing and wholeness for their lives.
Michele is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, but has made her home in Hampton Roads since 1995. Michele was certified in 2020 as a Community Reinforcement and Family Training interventionist (CRAFT). CRAFT is a comprehensive behavioral program that teaches families how to optimize their impact with loved ones suffering from addiction, while avoiding confrontation or detachment. CRAFT methods are evidence-based, and provide families with a hopeful, positive and more effective alternative to addressing substance problems than other intervention programs. Michele has also participated in Living Waters Ministry as a participant, then leader approximately 30 years ago. She remains connected with the ministry as an intercessor and has been a guest speaker. She is comfortable counseling individuals with gender identity issues, and sexual/relationship problems which conflict with their core values and beliefs.
Michele is also a singer, inspirational speaker, and the mother of a busy teenage son. She loves to spend time in nature, enjoys, traveling, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Most importantly, she is a follower of Christ whose heart’s desire is to love others as Jesus loves and fulfill His kingdom purposes for this generation.
