
Danica Henrich, ATR-BC, LPC, LMFT
Danica Henrich, ATR-BC, LPC, LMFT, is a Board Certified Art Therapist, Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. Her passion is to foster the personal growth of individuals, couples and families through Art Therapy and counseling. Danica values the therapeutic relationship and environment, believing it offers the opportunity for healing. Her work has focused supporting individuals, couples, and families struggling with Trauma, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Behavioral Issues, and Family/Marital conflict. Her strength is leading other the experience therapeutic benefits of art, to engage in self-discovery and to find opportunities to see themselves in a new, brighter light.
Throughout her career, Danica has worked in a variety of settings to include residential treatment settings, non-profit agencies, and private practice. She has also supported the art therapy an counseling profession through education, supervision and community outreach. Danica is an Alumni of the Graduate Art Therapy program at Eastern Virginia Medical School. From 2015-2018 rejoined the EVMS community through teaching the Family Therapy course for the Graduate Art Therapy and Counseling Program. Danica has served on the Board for the Virginia Art Therapy Association and in 2022 was appointed to the Art Therapy Advisory Board for the State of Virginia. Danica is trained in the Prepare/Enrich model of couples counseling which is a strength-based model. Danica has also completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method of Couples Counseling. Danica’s training and experience includes work with the Military, Service Members, and their families targeting issues and needs that are specific to or affected by Military Culture.
Danica enjoys painting, gardening, and spending time on the river or by the beach.
