Dana Lyon, LPC

Dana Lyon is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has over 10 years experience. She has experience in working with adults, adolescents and children. She has experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, bipolar, anger, substance abuse, posttraumatic disorders, relationship issues, family and marital issues. She has worked with children with Austism spectrum disorder and behavioral issues.

Dana received her Bachelor of Science in Counseling from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN. She received her MA in Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She has worked as a liaison with inpatient hospitals to coordinate services for individuals as they transition back into the community. Dana has a broad range of experience including providing mental health counseling, crisis intervention services, case management. She also has worked supervising emergency mental health services providing crisis interventions and brief counseling for individuals at risk of hospitalization. Dana completed certifications in trauma including compassion and stress management, disaster, stress and field traumatology.

Dana lives in Gloucester and has been married over 20 years. She has two children. She has always been involved and active in church. She enjoys working with the youth and college students.

Specialties: Treating traumatized children and adolescents, assessment and treatment in PTSD, grief and loss, psychological first aid, treating sexual trauma, treating phobia and anxiety (EMDR), and healing emotional/affective response (HEART model). All ages, including children; chronic mentally ill; all issues.
