Blair Farrar, LPC
Blair Farrar is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has been with Genesis Counseling Center since 2014. She works with adults, adolescents, and children with a variety of challenges and backgrounds. Blair has special focus in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and those going through major life transitions. She also works with individuals struggling with mood disorders and anxiety, and believes that every client has the potential to experience growth and make positive changes. Blair utilizes a variety of counseling techniques to best meet the needs of her clients, with particular emphasis on integrating Cognitive Behavioral, DBT, and Person-Centered approaches.
Blair graduated with her B.A. in History from Catawba College, and completed her M.A. in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Blair also holds a Graduate Certificate in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and has previous experience as a high school teacher. Blair is a certified Prepare/Enrich provider, and has focused her studies on the treatment of PTSD and complex trauma.
Blair has lived in the Tidewater area for many years, and enjoys exploring the historic sites and parks found across the region. She is a firm believer in the power of mindful self-care and enjoys finding creative ways to build moments of peace into a busy schedule.
