Ashley Wroton, LPC
Ashley Wroton is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with Attachment Theory and Biblical-based approaches. She also approaches play therapy from both Child-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, based upon the child and family’s needs. She includes Biblical principles in her work with clients and families as desired, while she views true healing and understanding to come from God through Christ.
Ashley received her degrees from Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, Virginia, minoring in Special Education during her undergraduate work. After being awarded a Masters of Science in Education in 2006, Ashley began teaching middle school. She returned to ODU after responding to a desire and call to inspire and encourage the lives and hearts of others through counseling and completed her Education Specialist degree in Mental Health and School Counseling in 2011. Ashley is also a professional member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Association for Play Therapy.
Ms. Wroton resides in Chesapeake and attends a church in Norfolk. She enjoys bike riding, hiking, designing and making crafts, and traveling. She has several publications including a children’s book, It’s Just Private.
