Taylor Lombardo, LCP
Dr. Taylor Lombardo is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about providing person-centered, evidence-based psychological services. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan with a diverse range of needs in both forensic and clinical settings. Her professional experience includes work in private and state psychiatric hospitals, as well as in a psychology department outpatient setting. She has provided individual and group therapy to the young adult, adult, and older adult populations presenting with concerns such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, serious mental illness, trauma, grief, personality disorders, work-related stress, and anger management. She also has experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to help clarify diagnoses and inform the treatment planning process. Her other clinical interests include working with the military populations and completing various forensic assessments. Dr. Lombardo was primarily trained in cognitive behavioral approaches; however, she also integrates humanistic, existential, and trauma-informed approaches to tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs. Specifically, she offers treatment informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. In every therapeutic relationship, she seeks to foster a collaborative and trusting clinical space to best help clients navigate life challenges, build upon their strengths, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.
Dr. Lombardo earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Regent University. She completed her APA-accredited internship at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center, a state psychiatric hospital in New York, where she served on interdisciplinary treatment teams across a long-term rehabilitation unit, a male forensic unit, and a young adult unit. She has also served as a team psychologist at both Eastern State and Central State Hospitals in Virginia, providing psychological services to individuals adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI), individuals undergoing competency restoration, and individuals requiring acute psychiatric stabilization.
Dr. Lombardo is a proud native of the Hampton Roads region. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to a wide range of music (though Fleetwood Mac is her favorite), watching college basketball, and spending time outdoors with her labradoodle, Farrah.
