Michael Brown has a heartfelt drive to assist those that have experienced emotional wounds or trauma, and to assist their movement toward health and healing. He has worked with diverse types of people, including military personnel, active duty and retired, adults that carry wounds from childhood and adults that have experienced trauma during life events. Michael completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Education in 2001 and his Master of Education, Mental Health Counseling in 2009, both from Old Dominion University. He is a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Michael is licensed in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor. He has received training and certification, as well as continuing education as an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapist through EMDRIA. Michael enjoys gardening and other out-of-doors activities. When the weather is nice, he enjoys riding his beach cruiser. He is an Elder in the church, which is a foundation for how he navigates life.
