John Berry is a Licensed Professional Counselor who integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches to best meet the needs of his clients. Drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), as well as psychodynamic and attachment theories, he tailors treatment to each individual. His goal is to help clients build insight, resilience, and effective coping strategies. John works primarily with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, creating a safe space for growth and healing. He earned both his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Regent University. John is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is actively pursuing full certification. His professional background includes providing individual and group therapy in private practice, as well as clinical work in a psychiatric hospital setting, where he specialized in detoxification, addictions, and a wide range of psychiatric disorders. Outside of counseling, John is a dedicated family caregiver who enjoys spending time with his loved ones. In his free time, he can often be found listening to or playing music, working on carpentry projects, chasing guitar tones, or building stereo sound systems. He also enjoys staying active through exercise and spending time outdoors.
