Jacquelyn (Jackie) is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has a passion for helping others. Her journey in the Mental Health field began as an Intensive In-Home Counselor working with at-risk youth and their families in 2017 to an outpatient therapist in 2020 and an inpatient therapist at a local mental health facility in 2022. As an inpatient therapist, she has assisted patients with disorders ranging from Bipolar to Schizophrenia. Jackie’s holistic approach to therapy provides an avenue where patients can continue their mental health journey upon discharge and find their voice. As an outpatient therapist, she works with couples as well as those transitioning into retirement. Jackie subscribes to a supporting approach to counseling by using techniques such as Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness. Jackie received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia College, then progressed to attend Northcentral University where she received a master’s degree in industrial occupational psychology. Jackie expanded her knowledge of mental health disorders by receiving a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health from Liberty University. Jackie continued her education journey by receiving a Marriage and Family Therapy certificate from Northcentral University. Jackie continued her education while supporting her husband while he served in the United States Army for 20 years. She served as a Family Readiness Leader when her husband was deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait. Jackie enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Her goal is to create a safe, caring and nurturing environment where she can take the journey with her patients as she explores their story with them. When not at work, Jackie and her husband enjoy exploring nature trails with their two children and traveling.
