Elizabeth Kwon is a Resident in Counseling who provides individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She is especially passionate about working with young children and teenagers, creating a warm, supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. Elizabeth utilizes a client-centered, culturally sensitive approach and tailors therapy to meet each client's unique needs and goals. She incorporates evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and somatic therapy techniques to help clients develop healthy coping skills, build resilience, and navigate life's challenges. Elizabeth earned dual bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Dance from Radford University before completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Old Dominion University. As part of her graduate training, she completed a year-long clinical internship at Genesis Counseling Center, where she gained valuable experience providing therapy to individuals across the lifespan while developing her skills in evidence-based, compassionate care. Outside of the counseling office, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, and continuing her love of dance. Before pursuing a career in counseling, she spent her childhood and college years training in a pre-professional ballet program, an experience that continues to shape her appreciation for discipline, creativity, and the mind-body connection.
