David Coddington, LCP
Dr. David Coddington is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides comprehensive and compassionate psychological services across the lifespan. He conducts psychological evaluations for children ages five and older, adolescents, adults, and older adults, helping to clarify complex diagnostic questions and guide effective treatment planning. Common referral concerns include Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, cognitive disorders, and emotional or behavioral difficulties. His evaluations are designed to offer clear, individualized insights along with practical recommendations for home, school, work, and clinical settings. In addition to assessment services, Dr. Coddington provides therapy for adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma-related conditions, and other behavioral health challenges. He also partners with individuals managing medical diagnoses to offer integrated behavioral health support. His therapeutic approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Motivational Interviewing, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, client-centered care.
Dr. Coddington earned his Bachelor of Arts from Nyack College and a master’s degree from Bethel University. He went on to complete both his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at Regent University. He completed his APA-accredited internship at Genesis Counseling Center in Hampton, Virginia. Prior to pursuing doctoral training and licensure in psychology, Dr. Coddington served in leadership roles within several faith-based nonprofit organizations, developing and overseeing programs serving children, adolescents, and adults. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) program at Regent University, where he supervises doctoral students in the early stages of their clinical training.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Coddington enjoys spending time with his wife and family, listening to music, vacationing at the beach, and experimenting with new recipes on his wood-pellet grill. He is also entertained by the daily antics of his pets—one a retired therapy dog named Peanut and the other a very hairy, opinionated, and yet handsome cat, Mocha.
