Chemin Kammer, Supervisee in Clinical Social Work
Mrs. Chemin Kammer is a dedicated mental health professional holding Masters-level licensure in Virginia, Texas, and Iowa, specializing in Children and Family Therapy. She brings a wealth of experience working with diverse populations across age, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Mrs. Kammer is particularly passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and military families. Her clinical experience spans trauma-informed care, including CBT and EMDR techniques, as well as work with homeless individuals experiencing severe mental illness, court-mandated therapy clients, and youth with various needs. Her approach to therapy is holistic, aiming to support the mind, body, and spirit in the healing process.
Mrs. Kammer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services with a concentration in Services to Children and Youth from Towson University in 2016. She went on to complete her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2021, focusing on Children and Family Therapy. She has completed foundational training in EMDR and previously held certification as a Family Life Educator. Mrs. Kammer is also a proud member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Her past professional roles have strengthened her skills in handling sensitive information, including experience in background investigations.
Originally from a military family, Mrs. Kammer deeply understands the unique challenges military life can bring. She recently returned to the Hampton Roads area after six years in Texas and has lived in multiple countries and states throughout her life. Outside of work, she is unafraid to be herself, enjoys all things nerdy—from Marvel and Star Wars to anime—and is known for bringing fun and laughter even in serious moments. Chemin loves dogs, music, and is passionate about encouraging others to always be themselves.
