Andrea Schuler is a Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia who is passionate about creating a safe and supportive space for healing. She works with individuals ages 8 and up, couples, and families to address a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, autism-related challenges, marital conflict, blended family dynamics, and relational distress within the family system. Andrea is trained in several therapeutic modalities to meet the unique needs of each client, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), sand tray therapy, parts work, art-focused counseling, and somatic approaches. She welcomes clients from all walks of life.  Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. She has completed Level One training in EMDR through EMDRIA and Level One Gottman training for couples work. Additionally, she is a certified facilitator in the SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) premarital counseling program. Her clinical training and ongoing education continue to equip her to serve individuals and families with empathy, insight, and excellence. When she's not in the office, Andrea finds joy in the outdoors—whether it’s relaxing by the ocean with a fishing pole, taking on hands-on backyard projects, or cheering on her favorite team at a ball game. At home, she embraces the lively rhythms of a large, blended family and the lovable chaos brought by her four floppy-eared basset hounds and one wise senior beagle. Andrea values the balance of nature, family, and furry companions as which remind her daily of God’s grace and delight in the little things.
