Melody Blanco, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Melody Blanco is a doctorally prepared advanced practice nurse in the state of Virginia. She is dual-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is ANCC board-certified in the state of Virginia. She earned her doctoral degree from University of North Florida. Dr. Blanco has a particular interest in collaborative care model by using patient-centered team care as well as evidence base to better meet the whole health needs of people with mental health conditions.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Dr. Blanco worked as a board-certified wound care nurse at Capital Medical Center as well as a psychiatric nurse for a crisis stabilization unit on the grounds of Western State Hospital in Washington State. Dr. Blanco is a member of Phi Kappa Phi who embraces a love of learning. In addition to her full-time work as an advanced practice nurse, Dr. Blanco works as an Adjunct Nursing Faculty at ECPI University, where she was awarded Faculty of the Year in 2015.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She likes reading, traveling, and volunteering in the community.
