Crystal Ferrara, LPC
Crystal is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has enjoyed working in the mental health & wellbeing field since 2003. She blends positive psychotherapy with cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, brief therapy, and motivation enhancement for groups and individuals. She is dedicated to helping people use their unique strengths to find greater healing and freedom in pursuit of their personal goals. Her work emphasizes the power of transformational mindsets and inspired actions as pathways to thriving and flourishing. She has a special passion for serving young adults (20’s-30’s), creatives, those seeking whole person wellness, and the military-life community.
Crystal earned her Bachelor’s degree in World Politics from The Catholic University of America and her Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Regent University. Soon after, her training in Positive Psychology began while attending a local seminar with Martin Seligman, the founder of the field and past president of the APA. She enjoyed a graduate internship and post-graduate residency at The City of Virginia Beach, Mental Health Substance Abuse Adult Day Treatment Program assisting adults recovering from co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders. Her past clinical experience includes supporting adults and late adolescents with issues related to life transitions, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, spiritual life integration, addictive behaviors, co-occurring disorders, relationship health, and motivation building.
Crystal has a background in international relations, creative arts, and marketing. She enjoys interior design, travel, playing music, active living, and presenting workshops on creative wellness and positive psychology-infused design. She comes from a strong military family background and currently helps support Open Studio Art Therapy for Veterans (sponsored by EVMS and The Department of Veterans Affairs).
