Charity Holmes, LPC
Charity Holmes is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia. She has been practicing in the mental health field in 2008 and providing services at Genesis since 2013. Charity works with adults, adolescents, and children ages 10+ with a wide variety of challenges and backgrounds. She additionally provides couples, family, and premarital counseling. Charity is certified facilitator in Prepare-Enrich .
Charity uses a variety of treatment modalities including CBT, DBT, EFT and ACT. Additionally, she incorporates mindfulness-based practices into sessions. Charity walks with the client, helping them find freedom to live life free from past hurts, hang-ups and habits. She helps clients achieve value driven goals by increasing self-awareness, identifying unhealthy avoidant behaviors, learning acceptance, and living with committed action to values. Therapy consists of a verbal assessment, treatment planning to identify the client’s goals, and multiple sessions involving psycho education, experiential exercises, skill acquisition, and homework.
Charity received her Masters in Community Counseling from Regent University, accredited by the Counsel on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP). She holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
Her professional interests include providing licensure supervision to master level students and residents, spiritual integration and holistic wellness. In her free time, Charity enjoys being outdoors. She and her husband are local church planters and enjoy partnering together in ministry.
