Charity Holmes, LPC

Charity Holmes is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia, and began practicing in the mental health field in 2008. She primarily sees clients 10 and older. She uses a Biblically based approach coupled with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and sound therapeutic techniques. Charity uses a “no-nonsense” approach to therapy and tends to focus on helping the client identify how their thoughts and emotions are linked to their behaviors and then helping the client establish new healthy thoughts, behaviors and boundaries. In addition, she uses The Flag Page  personality test with her clients to not only help her have a better understanding of her clients but to also assist her clients in gaining further personal insight.

Charity is passionate about couples counseling and her desire is to see love, hope, respect, forgiveness and intimacy abounding in relationships. She hopes to bring about change by focusing on the couples’ individual strengths and using these as the building blocks. She uses the “hope-focused approach” in which hope is aroused in couples thus creating the desire in clients to try to change and equipping clients with the tools needed to make lasting changes. Charity is certified facilitator in Prepare-Enrich . Prepare-Enrich is a customized couple assessment completed online that identifies a couple’s strength and growth areas. It is one of the most widely used programs for premarital counseling and premarital education. It is also used for marriage counseling, marriage enrichment, and dating couples considering engagement.

Charity received her Masters in Community Counseling from Regent University, accredited by the Counsel on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP). She holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
