Alyssa Moss, LPC
Mrs. Alyssa Moss is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with families, adults, adolescents, and children. She specializes in general issues to include depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, behavioral issues (ODD, Conduct disorder), PTSD, mood, crisis intervention, life stressors/adjustments, loss and grief, anger, impulsivity and communication/social skills. Alyssa likes to utilize behavior-based therapies such as CBT, REBT and DBT to assist clients. “Meeting clients where they are” and helping those in need to reach goals while feeling better mentally is her personal commitment.
Alyssa received her Virginia license to provide therapy in 2015. She has a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and 12 of years of experience working in the community. Alyssa’s previous experience includes Newport News juvenile detention center and Hampton Newport News Community Services Board juvenile drug court, intensive in-home counseling, therapeutic day treatment, outpatient therapy and adult REACH programs. Alyssa is also an approved supervisor with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
Alyssa is a lifelong resident of Newport News, Virginia. She enjoys spending time with family and serving her community. In her free time loves to hang out with her husband completing home projects, fishing, thrifting and growing with Christ.
