Hampton Roads Christian Counselor Connie Griffin Connie Griffin, Ph.D., LPC

Connie Griffin is new to the Genesis Counseling Center. Her academic background includes a Master’s degree from Mississippi State University, a Specialist degree from Mississippi College, and a Ph.D. in education with an emphasis in Community Counseling from Mississippi State University. She has been in private practice with an emphasis in adult and adolescent counseling, served as an adjunct professor teaching psychology and counseling classes at Mississippi College, Holmes Community College, and Argosy University in Tampa, Florida. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia, South Carolina, and Mississippi. Further, she is a National Board Certified School Counselor with an extensive background working with adolescents for over 15 years.

She has most recently developed and taught an online class for the University of South Carolina at the Hilton Head Gateway Campus in Bluffton, South Carolina. Her experience includes having served as a guest lecturer, author and co-author of grants and conductor of a grant-writing workshop for Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society, Argosy-Tampa, co-established a legislative committee and established a book club for Chi Sigma Iota Honorary Society at Argosy University in Tampa. Further, she was selected as a book club editor for the National Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society (CSI). She enjoys cycling, kayaking, reading, and volunteering in the community.

Practice focus: Family issues, Adjustment and Anxiety issues with adolescents and adults, anger management, depression, loss and grief, crisis intervention and behavior modification.
