Dr. Rucker has a passion for helping others achieve balance and serenity in their lives. She uses a holistic approach to therapy which focuses on the biological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of one’s self. Dr. Rucker specializes in working with parents of children who have ADHD. She has developed a group especially for them named “Oasis”. Oasis focuses toward education, support and relaxation as a means of coping with the overwhelming responsibly of parenting special needs children.

Dr. Rucker is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in the state of Virginia and a member of the American Psychological Association. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology as well as a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. She has a broad range of experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She has worked in the inpatient, private practice, public and private school, research and university settings. Dr. Rucker is a native of the Tidewater area. She has been married for 15 years and has three children.
